ROAD BUILDING & MUNICIPAL PAVING

Road Building Built

For New Brunswick

From subdivision roads in Fredericton's growing north side to municipal contracts across the Moncton region, Hogan Paving builds roads from the ground up. Family-run since 1989, with our own crews and equipment.

Full Road Builds,

Start To Finish

A driveway is one thing. A road is another. Building a road that holds up through a New Brunswick winter means getting the work right long before the asphalt arrives, and that is where most of the job actually happens.

Hogan Paving self-performs the full scope: site preparation, grading, drainage, granular base construction, and the final asphalt lifts. Because we run our own crews and equipment, we are not waiting on a string of subcontractors to keep a municipal or subdivision project on schedule.

We have spent more than three decades on roads in and around Fredericton and Moncton, so we understand the ground we are building on, from the clay-heavy soils near the Saint John River to the flood-prone low spots along the Petitcodiac.

What We Build

Municipal & Government Contracts

We bid and deliver on municipal and government road work, tendered to spec and inspection-ready. Detailed quantities, clear scheduling, and a single accountable contractor from base to finish course.

Subdivision & Developer Roads

New residential developments around Fredericton, Oromocto, Riverview, and Dieppe need roads that will be there decades after the last house is sold. We build subdivision streets, curb-line approaches, and shared accesses to the standard the municipality will sign off on.

Base Construction & Reconstruction

The road lives or dies on what is underneath it. We handle excavation, sub-base and granular base construction, proper compaction, and grading for drainage, then pave a structure that is engineered to carry real traffic loads.

Engineered For The

Freeze-Thaw Cycle

New Brunswick punishes roads. Water gets into the structure in the fall, freezes and expands through January and February, then thaws and lets the surface settle unevenly come spring. A road built without drainage and a proper base will crack, heave, and pothole within a few seasons.

We build for that reality. Adequate granular depth, controlled compaction, and grades that move water off the road instead of trapping it underneath are what separate a road that lasts from one that gets torn up early. The right asphalt mix and lift thickness for the expected traffic do the rest.

It is the same approach whether we are working a Moncton-area collector road or a quiet Fredericton cul-de-sac: get the base and the water right, and the surface holds.

Common Questions

Do you bid on municipal and government road tenders?

Yes. We prepare competitive bids for municipal and government road projects across the Fredericton and Moncton regions, with detailed quantities and a schedule we can stand behind. As a self-performing contractor, the crew that bids the work is the crew that builds it.

Can you handle a full road build, not just paving?

Yes. We self-perform the complete scope, including site prep, grading, drainage, granular base construction, and the asphalt lifts. You deal with one contractor from the first cut to the final course rather than coordinating several trades.

Do you have the equipment and crews for larger projects?

We do. Hogan Paving owns its equipment and runs its own crews, which is why we can keep a subdivision or municipal project moving on schedule instead of waiting on subcontractors and rented machines.
